Build Stronger Legs with Low Impact Exercises

Are you looking for a quick and effective leg workout that doesn’t involve jumping? Look no further! Follow along with Chris Heria and discover an 8-minute home leg workout that will help you build strong and toned legs using low impact exercises.

Why Choose a No Jumping Workout?

Jumping exercises are great for cardiovascular fitness and burning calories, but they can put a lot of stress on your joints, especially if you have any existing joint issues or injuries. That’s why a no jumping leg workout is an excellent option. It allows you to focus on your leg muscles without the added pressure on your joints.

The Workout Breakdown

This 8-minute leg workout is designed to target all major muscle groups in your legs. Here’s a breakdown of the exercises involved:

1. Bulgarian Split Squats

Start by placing one foot behind you on an elevated surface, such as a bench or chair. Lower your body until your front thigh is parallel to the ground, then push through your front heel to return to the starting position. Repeat for the desired number of reps, then switch legs.

2. Prisoner Squats

Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and interlace your fingers behind your head. Lower your body into a squat position, keeping your chest up and your knees in line with your toes. Push through your heels to return to the starting position. Repeat for the desired number of reps.

3. Calf Raises

Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and raise your heels off the ground, pushing up onto the balls of your feet. Hold for a moment, then lower your heels back down. Repeat for the desired number of reps.

4. Pistol Squats

While holding onto a stable object for support, extend one leg out in front of you. Lower your body down into a squat position on one leg, then push through your heel to return to the starting position. Repeat for the desired number of reps, then switch legs.

5. Glute Bridges

Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground. Lift your hips off the ground by squeezing your glutes and pushing through your heels. Hold for a moment, then lower your hips back down. Repeat for the desired number of reps.

6. Step-Ups

Find an elevated surface, such as a step or sturdy chair. Step one foot onto the surface, then push through that foot to lift your body up onto the surface. Step back down and repeat with the other leg. Alternate legs for the desired number of reps.

7. Hamstring Curls

Lie on your stomach with your legs straight out behind you. Bend your knees and bring your heels towards your glutes, squeezing your hamstrings. Lower your legs back down and repeat for the desired number of reps.

8. Wall Sits

Stand with your back against a wall and lower your body into a seated position, with your thighs parallel to the ground. Hold this position for the desired amount of time, then push through your heels to stand back up.

Conclusion

This 8-minute home leg workout is a fantastic option for anyone looking to build stronger and more defined legs without incorporating jumping exercises. By following along with Chris Heria, you can enjoy a low impact workout that targets all major muscle groups in your legs. Remember to always listen to your body and modify any exercise as needed. If you want to level up to more rounds, are you then either supposed to work through all of the workout and than start again with the first exercise OR do you do quats first (× 2/3/4 times) then leg bridge (× 2/3/4 times) etc … ?

Before I saw this workout I thought I had to go to the gym to be able to workout my legs and that would give me an easy excuse to skip leg day. But now I have no excuses and can conveniently work my legs without leaving my room (lol). Gonna try this soon!
